ALBAWABA - After 10 days of severe military operations, Israeli troops withdrew from Jenin and its refugee camp in the northern occupied West Bank, leaving substantial devastation. Palestinian news agency WAFA said that Israeli soldiers left after inflicting considerable damage and several local injuries.
Jenin residents worried that Israeli soldiers may return to conduct further attacks after repositioning at adjacent military posts.
Israeli soldiers damaged infrastructure in Jenin's major roadways, refugee camp, and eastern districts during the 10-day onslaught. Israeli soldiers' heavy equipment and excavations interrupted water, electrical, and communication networks.
The Israeli army left Tulkarem city and camp, according to eyewitnesses. The retreat showed massive infrastructural and building damage.
In addition to Jenin, Israeli forces and hardline settlers wounded seven Palestinians throughout the West Bank. Palestinian Red Crescent workers treated five people badly assaulted by Israeli troops at the Al-Jalama military checkpoint near Jenin. Their injuries included bruising and fractures.
Israeli settlers injured two Palestinians in Aruf, Northern Aghwar. In Abu Falah, near Ramallah, Israelis burned a Palestinian automobile and painted racist graffiti on a home.
"Summer Camps." was the Israeli military's largest attack against refugee camps in Jenin, Tulkarem, and Tubas on August 28. It was the greatest military action in the area since 2002's Second Intifada.
