ALBAWABA - The Israeli army targeted a car in the southern Lebanese city of Sidon on Monday, media reported on Monday.
The drone attack came on the eve of the deadline for the withdrawal of Israeli forces which was set on Feb. 18. Israeli sources revealed that the attack targeted a "senior element" in the Hamas movement.
Jerusalem Post quoted an Israeli official who claimed that the Hamas leader targeted in a raid in Sidon was planning an attack against Israelis.
"An Israeli drone targeted a car on the marine highway near Sidon Municipal Stadium," Lebannon's National News Agency (NNA) said, adding that "the driver was still inside," while the Lebanese Health Ministry said one person was killed in the Israeli attack.
According to initial reports online, the Hamas key figure who was killed in the drone attack by Israel was Mohammed Shaheen, Hamas leader in Lebanon.
