ALBAWABA - In the last 96 hours, Hamas' military wing, the Izzeddin al-Qassam Brigades, revealed that two prisoners died and eight were seriously injured in Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip.

The conflict between Israel and Gaza has been ongoing for 128 days, resulting in more casualties among prisoners in Israeli attacks. According to the al-Qassam Brigades, in the recent 96-hour period alone, two prisoners were killed, and eight others were badly hurt in Israeli bombings.

The statement emphasized the challenges in providing medical assistance to the injured prisoners due to continuous airstrikes. It stressed that Israel is responsible for the well-being of the wounded as the airstrikes persist.

The ceasefire between Israel and Gaza, which started on November 24 last year and was extended twice, ended on December 1. During this ceasefire period, Hamas released 80 Israeli prisoners held in Gaza, while Israel freed 240 Palestinian detainees.

Israeli military estimates suggest that about 136 Israeli prisoners are currently held in Gaza, with around 27 prisoners losing their lives in Israeli airstrikes.
