Israel's acting Foreign Minister, Shlomo Ben Ami, said on Tuesday that Israel was demanding the unconditional release of its three soldiers snatched by Lebanese guerrillas at the weekend.
"We do expect these soldiers to be released with no conditions attached. They were illegally abducted and they should be released," he told reporters ahead of a second meeting with UN Secretary General Kofi Annan.
Annan arrived in the region on Monday in a bid to quell the wave of deadly Israeli-Palestinian unrest and help secure the release of the three army sergeants seized by the Shiite Muslim Hizbollah movement on the border with Lebanon on Saturday – JERUSALEM (AFP)
