Seven dead in Iraq after twin bombing

A double bombing killed seven people in a city north of Baghdad on Saturday, Associated Press reports.

Iraqi police say a roadside bomb exploded on a busy street in Tikrit. After police arrived to inspect the blast, another bomb detonated.

According to AP, that five police officers and two civilians were killed and the blast left 18 wounded.

Iraq has experienced an uptick in violence since last April.
