Iran will refuse to negotiate with world powers about its nuclear development plans, a senior official was quoted as saying on Thursday. The remarks by Ali Asghar Soltanieh, Iran's ambassador to the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency, came one day after Iran has submitted its proposals to six powers.
According to Iran's Arabic-language satellite television, al Alam, Soltanieh said his country had prepared the proposed "package" to try to end differences over its nuclear development. "Tehran is prepared to have fair and substantive talks about various problems, including the guarantee of access by all countries to nuclear energy and preventing the proliferation of nuclear arms," Soltanieh said.
"But these talks do not include Tehran's nuclear programme and legal activities in this connection," he added.
