Leading figures from the insurance and risk management industry will convene at the 9th Middle East Energy Insurance Conference organised and hosted by Aon Corporation in Dubai in April.
With a share of 56% of the world’s proven oil reserves and 30% of proven natural gas reserves, the Arab World is well endowed to keep pace with rapidly increasing global energy demand. The Conference entitled “Fuelling the Global Economy” and “Investing for the Future” will provide a platform for natural resources insurance providers and insurance buyers to discuss common issues and challenges crucial to the energy insurance industry today.
Latif Al Rayes, Chairman & CEO , Aon Middle East, said: “The global energy market has never been more focused upon. The multitude of risks in the current environment is greater than ever before. Energy security, security of supply, dramatic increase in global demand, emerging energy poverty in parts of the world, the challenge in replacing oil, the relationships between national oil companies and private oil companies, and high energy prices are all crucial challenges today.”
This event that Aon has organised on a regular basis over more than a decade has become a major forum for the energy industry to debate issues relating to the management of risk for all stakeholders. A broad array of topics will be discussed during the two-day event which starts on 24 April. The opening address will be delivered by Nasser Al Shaali, CEO, Dubai International Financial Centre, Government of Dubai, while Dr. Henry Azzam, Founder & CEO of Amwal Invest will speak on the economic and stock market outlook in the Middle East region. Senior executives from Aon and distinguished regional and global energy and petrochemical companies will present their views to the delegates. The event attracts more than 300 delegates from a broad cross section of the energy and risk industries.
“Aon is the leading insurance broking and consulting firm in the Middle East region where we have had operations for over 30 years during which time we have developed long and strong relationships with most of the national energy companies” added Latif Al Rayes. "The Middle East remains a very attractive market for the international energy insurance sector and we're proud to bring together many of the world's leading energy companies and host this important gathering of international energy risk managers, underwriters, and other professionals from the Risk Industry."
“In this challenging time, the Middle East region is increasingly important as the leading energy provider to the world – and the current global demand combined with high oil prices is fuelling massive investments within the region on an unprecedented basis. These are very exciting times for the whole industry in the region and Aon continues to respond to our clients needs,” he concluded.
