ALBAWABA- Northern Israel faced a surge of missile and drone attacks launched from Lebanon, leading to explosions and fires in several settlements. The escalation prompted 25 minutes of air raid sirens amid fears of further drone infiltrations.
The Israeli Army reported multiple drones entering the Galilee, Haifa, and Carmel regions, and intensified search efforts are underway to intercept them, while residents have been urged to remain cautious.
One drone reportedly exploded inside a military base northeast of Hadera, escalating concerns. Sirens also sounded in the towns surrounding the Jezreel Valley, Nahariya, and at Ramat David Air Base as additional drones were suspected in the area.
The Israeli army acknowledged its difficulties in shooting down a drone that had been flying over northern Israel for more than 30 minutes, adding to the sense of vulnerability in the region.
The attacks marked one of the most intense retaliatory barrages by Hezbollah, forcing over a million Israelis from northern border towns to southern Haifa to seek shelter.
This wave of missile strikes was in response to a series of Israeli airstrikes the previous day, which targeted multiple areas in southern Lebanon, including residential zones in the suburbs of Beirut.
The raids resulted in more than 40 fatalities and dozens of injuries, intensifying the ongoing conflict and sparking fears of further escalation in hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel.
