A new Board of Directors for the International Advertising Association – Jordan Chapter (IAA Jordan) was elected by acclamation for the term 2007 – 2009 during the Association’s recent General Assembly, held at the King Hussein Club.

“The Association managed to accomplish many admirable achievements, the most prominent of which was creating a name and face for the industry and educating the different audiences on its role in contributing to the development of the national economy,” IAA Jordan outgoing President Sharif Abukhadra said in his speech at the General Assembly. Abukhadra thanked Board members and all who exhibited commendable efforts through the past few years, helping the Association to achieve its different objectives. He also wished the new President success and luck on his new journey.

A presentation was given to demonstrate the achievements of IAA Jordan, highlighting its remarkable milestone of winning the IAA Chapter Excellence Award at the 40th International Advertising Association World Congress, succeeding over 95 other eligible Chapters from 76 countries. It also underlined the Advertising and Marketing Communications Conference “Outside the Box”, which the Association first organized in 2005, and another time in 2006. The conference attracted a host of global and regional experts and speakers of the industry.

The new President, Mustapha Tabba, paid special tribute to the outgoing President Mr. Abukhadra, whose efforts over the past four years had established IAA in Jordan as the guardian for the marketing and communications industry in the Kingdom, as well as in asserting the leading status of Jordanian Chapter, ahead of other IAA chapters worldwide.

Mr. Tabba highlighted the challenges for the IAA Jordan Chapter for the next term, a period expected to be dynamic in terms of entry of new media into the market and the expected strong growth forecasted for the industry. “It will be a challenging term for the new board, and I am confident that our efforts will go a long way towards further developing the industry at large,” Mr.Tabba concluded.

IAA Jordan was established in December 31, 2001 by group of entrepreneurs in the advertising industry in Jordan and aims at educating local professionals on marketing principles and the importance of advertising for economic development.
