Hikmat Road Safety (HRS) implemented and equipped 100 football fields in 100 governmental schools inside and outside Amman. The fields were realized through the recently launched initiative "Safer Playgrounds."
In addition to HRS commitment and dedication to implement the project, it has also set a record time as 100 playgrounds were completely ready within a period of 50 days only.
HRS project enabled many children to utilize the fields during their summer vacation as the Ministry of Education (MoE) granted permission to keep the school fields open for students and neighborhood children to play in.
Furthermore, the fields provided children with a space to release energy, have fun and express themselves without being exposed to the risks and dangers of road and traffic accidents.
HRS's record time success was realized in cooperation with their partners; MoE, Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) and the Traffic Department.
Minister of Education Dr. Khaled Al-Karaki said "I would like to congratulate HRS and ourselves for such a remarkable project, well done in such a short period of time."
Karaki also noted that the partnership with HRS and GAM came through as it gave children the opportunity to utilize their well-equipped school fields during their summer vacation, in addition to shielding them from the threat of being ran over while playing in the streets.
"We are glad to have provided proper safe havens for our kids to play, enjoy their hobbies, burn some energy and develop their talents without being endangered; we are very thankful for the efforts made by our partners," he added.
In addition, Karaki cited his enthusiasm for more fields yet to be implemented.
Founder of HRS, Maher Qaddoura said "Being able to keep our promise and accomplish 100 playgrounds in 100 schools within 50 days indicates how eager we are to play a leading role in contributing to road safety requirements for people."
"We ensured a higher level of safety for our children as they enjoy their hobbies, express themselves and play safely far from road and traffic dangers," he added.
Moreover, Qaddoura noted that HRS will be working on implementing and equipping another 400 football fields in the next 18 months.
"I would like to graciously thank the MoE, GAM and the Traffic Department, our partners in bringing this project to life, fulfilling our goals and keeping our promises in such a short period of time", he concluded.
