A powerful Kashmiri militant group the Hizbul Mujahideen on Sunday claimed responsibility for a mine attack in Indian-controlled Kashmir which killed at least four Indian border guards.
Hizbul spokesman Salim Hashmi said the group planted the mine which destroyed a Border Security Force (BSF) bus near Kud township, some 100 kilometers (62 miles) south of Jammu, the Kashmiri winter capital.
He said six BSF guards were killed in the explosion. Indian police have said four guards died and 32 others were injured, ten severely.
"Until India accepts our demands we will intensify our attacks on Indian security forces and military installations," Hashmi told AFP.
The Hizbul cancelled a ceasefire earlier this month after India refused to agree to its demand for unconditional tripartite peace talks including Pakistan – ISLAMABAD (AFP)
