Hertz UAE, the country’s fastest growing car rental and leasing company, has crowned its Employee of the Year at an award ceremony in Dubai.
Marketing coordinator Saira Ranjith was presented with the trophy by Bob Farrow, General Manager of Hertz UAE, part of the Al Futtaim group.
The annual award plays a key role in the company’s ongoing commitment to the development and recognition of its staff, which it believes boosts the service it provides to its customers and contributes to the company’s growth.
In 2006 Hertz UAE's revenue registered an increase of 23 per cent compared with 2005, while the company's fleet increased by 16 per cent with further expansion planned for the current year. The company operates from 13 branches in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah.
Saira, who is based in the Dubai head office and has worked for the company for two years, was recognised for her positive attitude and excellent approach to customer service.
“I realise how important this award is,” she said. “I love my job and when the company recognises your hard work and your colleagues vote for you to win it is very gratifying.”
The Hertz UAE Employee of the Year Award was established in 2004 by General Manager Bob Farrow who said: “Recognising employees’ hard work is a powerful motivator and serves to reinforce the enthusiasm, commitment and social conscience of our staff, which in turn boosts the level of service that we offer our customers.”
Other staff development initiatives introduced by Hertz UAE include a range of training courses targeted at all levels of the company to boost professionalism and develop proactive team working. The company also recently set up a staff training library at its Dubai headquarters.
