Health care professionals from various government and private sector health and medical institutions in Riyadh recently attended a conference organised by Al Rabie Saudi Foods Co. Ltd at the Marriott Hotel. The conference aimed to highlight the importance of promoting health education in the community and focused on ways to share the experiences of health institutions to ultimately benefit the community as a whole.

Monther Bin Trad Al Harthi, CEO, Al Rabie, said, "This conference reflects our steadfast commitment to assist the Saudi government with its continuing efforts to promote health education across all sectors. The conference served as a platform for health care professionals in the country to share knowledge, experience and best practices, which in turn will create much needed awareness among people about the importance of leading a healthy life."

During the seminar, participants discussed experiences and ways to promote healthier lifestyles among people. Other aspects discussed included ways to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals, families and communities as a whole, and the measures that can be taken to enhance the quality of life of people by mainly focusing on prevention, which could result in reduced financial burden.

Speaking at the conference, Dr. Mona Sanan, Nutritional Consultant, Al Rabie, said, "Maintaining good health often depends on the choices we make in our everyday lives. Today, major health concerns such as obesity- type 2, diabetes and osteoporosis have become ailments that an increasing number of people in our region are suffering from. Most of these problems, including premature aging, are linked to bad nutrition habits, meaning that these ailments can actually be prevented through good nutrition and by following a balanced lifestyle. Making the right food choices and regular exercising can make a major difference in the way we look and feel."

Towards the end of the event, Al Rabie honoured several health care professionals for their extreme dedication in promoting health education. The public health seminar is part of the Al Rabie Wellness Movement, an initiative that aims to complement the company's corporate philosophy; "Health for All."
