Hamas group has welcomed a decision by Arab governments to send food and medicine to Palestinians in the blockaded Gaza Strip. But the Palestinian movement has demanded Arabs take action to break the Israeli siege of Gaza.
Hamas also rejected the decision by Arab foreign ministers Wednesday to support Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and their indirect criticism of Hamas for backing out of reconciliation talks with Fatah movement. According to the AP, Hamas said in Thursday's statement Abbas' refusal to hold presidential elections weakens the motivation for reconciliation talks.
