ALBAWABA- In a candid interview with Maariv, the former Israeli Deputy Chief of Staff, Yair Golan, expressed deep concern over the lack of defined goals in the ongoing conflict. 

Emphasizing that the political leadership must clarify the objectives of the war, the former official highlighted the shocking sacrifice of Israel's best sons without clear military objectives. 

Criticizing the initial failure and stressing the need for truthfulness, the Deputy Chief of Staff suggests that reaching an agreement with Hamas may be inevitable, as the organization is seen as the only capable actor for releasing detained individuals. 

Golan asserts that the ongoing strategy of misinformation poses a continued threat to our nation's security. This deceptive approach, as highlighted by the former Israeli Deputy Chief of Staff, not only jeopardizes the safety of our citizens but also hinders their return to homes along the border. 

The former Deputy Chief of Staff's critique extends to the Netanyahu government, accusing it of neglecting the crucial link between political solutions with Arabs and security considerations. 

According to Maariv, a government prioritizing security cannot afford to downplay the Palestinian threat in favor of the Iranian one.
