In supporting efforts of cross cultural dialogue, Grand Hyatt Amman hosted the ProjectExplorer team during their stay in Jordan to prepare for the film documentary and educational activities across the Kingdom. ProjectExplorer’s Jordan series features a catalogue of short films that serves as a gateway for students to explore and discuss topics such as archeology, religion, Middle Eastern cuisine, arts, culture and much more.
Grand Hyatt Amman has ensured a special and culturally-rich stay for the Project Explorer team. The team was given a lively cooking lesson by the hotel's award-winning chefs in a tempting array of traditional and local dishes. The hotel also helped arrange an interview for Project Explorer with the folklore band Al-Pachawat of Aleppo, roughly translated to "the band of lords", which took part in Grand Hyatt Amman's Ramadan-themed entertainments last year. The team also got a chance to experience the best of the Dead Sea treatments offered by the hotel’s spa Club Olympus.
ProjectExplorer is a non-profit organization which aims at enhancing youngsters' knowledge of world cultures, traditions, and customs through documentaries and multimedia material produced by the organization during its travels in various countries. This material is then posted online and free-of-charge on its website, providing valuable educational resources to students who have little knowledge about cultures other than theirs. In doing so, Project Explorer hopes to foster future generations of global citizens who will contribute to a better understanding amongst nations. All the series can be viewed live at www.projectexplorer.org
The ProjectExplorer visit was concluded with the announcement of Grand Hyatt Amman as an official partner in the organization's educational mission, by which the hotel will provide all necessary accommodations to support Project Explorer's cultural activities and visits in the country.
