Grand Final 9mm Pistol Shooting Competition 2008
Competition will be held at Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club on December 6
The winners of the Grand Final 9mm Pistol Shooting Competition 2008 organized by the Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club will receive two brand new Toyota FJ Cruisers and cash prizes.
On behalf of H.E. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al Thani, Managing Director of Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club, General Manager Joseph Estephan said during the press conference that the fourth and final round will be held on December 6 at 6pm at the club’s shooting range. The first three rounds were conducted on February 9, June 28 and September 20.
“For those who will complete four rounds the first prize winners will receive a brand new Toyota FJ Cruiser, while the second and third prize winners will receive Dhs30,000 and Dhs10,000, respectively,” added Estephan.
Interested individuals can still join the final round which will award cash prizes to the top three winners.
“All they have to do is register with the club and pay a fee of Dhs325 for the bullets and CZ and Beretta pistols to be provided by the club,” explained the club’s shooting manager Baiju Noorudeen.
Previously each round had different rules. The grand final will allow each participant to take 18 shots in 90 seconds. The first six shots will be within a distance of 15 meters using one hand. The next six shots will be within a distance of 20 meters using both hands. And the last six shots will be within 25 meters also using both hands. Magazine loading time is not included in the 90-second duration.
Estephan further said: “We would like everyone to experience pistol shooting as we are the only shooting range in the UAE that is open to the general public offering different types of calibers and pistols like the Glock, Sig Sauer , HK, CZ and Beretta 9mm models.”
The competition was organized under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al Thani. Sponsors are Air BP, SABA Property, ADCOM and Sharjah Islamic Financial Services.
