Global Village, the region’s premier entertainment and cultural destination in Dubailand, has registered a visitor number of 2 million in just seven weeks since the park was opened in November 22, 2009.
Hosting 31 pavilions, 45 cultures, and showcasing around 6000 cultural shows and performances, Global Village has become a favourite stop for particularly GCC visitors who find Dubai relatively easy to reach.
The venue’s popularity has been on the increase with visitors pouring in from across the GCC and other countries. Various testimonials from different people can attest to the amazing times spent in Global Village. Global Village always has something new to offer.”
According to Dubai-based Indian expatriate Thajuddin Kamal and his wife Shuhaiba Kamal, who were both watching a Chinese cultural show, “Global Village gives us the chance to learn more about world cultures. The park has numerous cultural shows and the performers are simply amazing. The shows are entertaining and educational at the same time.”
Global Village is also a good place to hang out with friends. Yasmin El-Beih (Egyptian), Khadijah Abdeen (Palestinian) and Anika Khan (Pakistani) go to Global Village just to have fun. “Global Village provides a different kind of souk-atmosphere than most shopping malls. Here, we find good and practical buys that are unique and rare. More so, the park is very engaging as it has lots of things in it that cater to various needs of its different types of people.”
The outdoor ambience of Global Village also attracts office colleagues like Elle Flores, Aqib Naseem and Maria Romusod. They say, “We find dining and shopping in malls very usual. We cannot put into words everything but we feel that Global Village is quite special.”
Global Village, with its shopping, dining, cultural shows, entertaining games, fun fair rides, and outdoor ambiance make for a totally enjoyable package for every visitor and family.
