The second edition of GETEX Abu Dhabi (Global Education and Training Exhibition) opens tomorrow (Friday, 24th November, 2006) at the Rotana Beach Hotel and Towers, exhibiting educational programs from some of the world’s leading academic institutions. The three-day event provides a complete networking forum for the education industry, bringing a diversity of academic courses and training options from over 125 exhibitors spanning 15 countries.
“GETEX has generated a significant amount of industry interest, with the 2006 Abu Dhabi edition hosting a higher number of exhibitors that in turn are presenting a greater variety of education solutions tailored to the needs of growing Middle East markets. GETEX Abu Dhabi will collate academic institutions from the GCC and other favoured education destinations such as the UK, Canada, Australia, the European Union, New Zealand, Switzerland, India and Malaysia under one roof, allowing students in Abu Dhabi a one stop platform to choose their preferred course of study,” said Anselm Godhino, Managing Director of International Conferences & Exhibitions (IC&E), the organisers of GETEX.
In addition, Italy is bringing a strong representation to GETEX Abu Dhabi, with universities offering an array of multidisciplinary programs to UAE students in the field of Business Administration, International Relations, IT, Engineering, Architecture Fashion & Design and Italian language courses tailored for foreign students.
GETEX Abu Dhabi 2006 will focus on higher education courses, particularly in the fields of management, medicine, information technology and e-learning, and will offer free academic and career counselling workshops for students. Additionally, the event will highlight new and innovative methods of study including real time e-learning solutions. The exhibition is a valuable opportunity for students who may have missed the autumn admissions intake to finalize optimal study options for the spring intake of international universities.
“GETEX is returning to Abu Dhabi after a successful 2005 showing and promises to be an exciting platform to showcase a comprehensive snapshot of the international education industry. This year’s exhibition is significant in that more institutions are offering courses topical to the Middle Eastern markets, highlighting the increasing importance that education providers and curriculum designers are giving to providing studying options for the region,” Godhino added.
Established in 1984 with a focus on bringing more higher education options to students in the Middle East, GETEX has expanded internationally with a strong emphasis on education technology. Held under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahayan bin Mubarak Al-Nahayan, the UAE Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research, GETEX Abu Dhabi 2006 will be held at the Beach Rotana Hotel and Towers, Abu Dhabi from November 24 to 26, 2006.
