The (21st) edition of GETEX Dubai, the Middle East's leading education fair, will be held from April 15 to 18, 2009 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, featuring the four key segments of Student Recruitment, HRD & Training, Education Equipment and Technology 2009, and Careers 2009. The event is also hosting the 2009 Global Forum for Technology and Innovation in Teaching and Leading, and the 2009 HRD & Training Conference that focuses on sustainable HR development in the current recessed economy.
GETEX 2009 has implemented a number of improvements to complement a growing region-wide focus on improving educational standards in the GCC and developing a competitive employment market to bolster the region's human resource base. In the UAE alone, education has been given top priority by the Federal Cabinet when it approved the AED 42.2 billion budget for 2009, allocating up to 23 per cent of the UAE's annual spending for the development of the education sector.
