German negotiators are set to intercede Sunday on Israel's behalf in an attempt to gain release of three Israeli soldiers held by the Lebanese Hizbollah movement, reported the Jerusalem post.

Hizbollah kidnapped Israeli soldier Omar Sawayid, Abraham Binyamin and Adi Avitan in the Har Dov region of the border with Lebanon on October 7th, the paper added.

Angelo Gnaedinger, representative of The International Committee of the Red Cross was denied access of information about the three soldiers in a meeting with Sheikh Naim Kassem on December 6th, according to the daily.

Hizbollah has said on more then one occasion that the imprisonment of the Israeli soldiers was made for a “humanitarian cause” and that is to exchange them with the Arab prisoners in Israeli jails.

General secretary of Hizbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, stresses that Israel will not be granted information regarding the prisoners for “free” as the secretary put it – Albawaba.com
