Prof. Dr. Annette Schavan, the Federal Minister of Education and Research in Germany will give a talk on stimulating cooperation and exchange between science and industry at Dubai Institute of Technology's 4th Strategic Forum and the World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organization's (WAITRO) 20th Biennial Congress and General Assembly in Dubai. The event will be hosted by DIT/TechnoPark and will be held from October 11 to 14.
Prof. Dr. Schavan comes to the forum as part of an official visit to the GCC and will be heading a high-level German delegation comprising 40 leaders in the field of Education and Technology development in Germany. The delegation includes Prof Hans-Jorg Bullinger, scientist and current president of the leading German applied research organisation, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, and the President of the Technical University of Berlin Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jörg Steinbach. The program will include also the witnessing and signing of two Memorandums of Understanding between the UAE & Germany.

The Congress will hold a key industry conference on October 13 and 14 organised under the banner of 'DIT Strategic Forum'. The two day conference, centred on the theme Leadership for Innovation, will highlight various issues facing the industry today. Other sessions include R&D Commercialization & Intellectual Property Management, Knowledge Transfer: Challenges and Best Practices, Government Policies and Procedures pertaining to Innovation Ecosystem, and Public Private Partnership.
