General Motors said that Middle East automobile sales are expected to rise another five percent this year, reported the Gulf News on Tuesday.

“Relatively stable oil prices and their impact on regional economies continue to be the foundation for that growth,” a top official added.

GM, estimates that its sales growth this year will be 20 to 30 percent, pushing volume up to 50,000 to 55,000 vehicles. Last year GM achieved regional sales of 42,000, its highest since 1993, said the paper.

"Volumes have reached comfortable levels, and our projections are for a couple of good years to come," said Stuart Pierce, sales and marketing director for GM Overseas Distribution Corp.

"Saudi Arabia is really strong for us and we are expecting more rapid sales growth from the UAE for an 8-10 percent market share this year." – Albawaba.com
