Palestinian medical sources reported that one fighter died late Wednesday and four others were wounded after the Israeli air force fired a missile at a group of fighters in Tal Al Za’tar area, east of Jabalia, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
The sources added that the missile was fired at a group of fighters, members of the Al Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad. The victim was identified as Ghassan Al Taramisy, 29. The sources added that one of the four wounded Palestinians is in a serious condition.
Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister, Ehud Barak vowed further military offensives against the Gaza Strip. "We have no intention of violating the quiet," Defense Minister Ehud Barak said on a tour of southern Israeli areas bordering Gaza. "But in any place where we need to thwart an action against Israeli soldiers and civilians, we will act," he added.
