Global shipping and logistics services provider, GAC has won the coveted “Shipping Agent of the Year” award and a special Judge’s award for “Outstanding Contribution to Training”at the inaugural Supply Chain and Transport Awards (SCATA) 2007 held in Dubai last week.
Organised by the prominent supply chain and transportation publications of ITP, the largest business and consumer magazine publisher in the Middle East, the Supply Chain and Transport Awards endeavour to acknowledge the most outstanding transportation and logistics firms in the region that have gone above and beyond in terms of innovation and industry contribution. The Awards aim to set the gold standard for the Middle East’s transportation and logistics industry.
The winners of 15 categories, selected by an independent panel consisting of renowned industry figures, were presented with their prizes at a prestigious gala dinner held at the Fairmont Hotel in Dubai, UAE.
Jan Farnelid, GAC Group Vice President, Human Resources, who received the award for “Outstanding Contribution to Training” on behalf of the company, said: “Investing in human capital is tantamount to investing in the future of GAC.
