France's Immaculate Conception Church in Saint-Omer catches fire

ALBAWABA - A fire broke out in Immaculate Conception Church in Saint-Omer in France on Monday, French media reported.

Videos were shared on social media showing a huge blaze with smoke rising into the sky with the cause of the fire unknown according to initial reports.

BFM TV reported that no one was injured in the blaze as 90 firefighters were dispatched to the location to combat the fire at Immaculate Conception Church in Saint-Omer.

The blaze at the French church was contained around 7:15 a.m. on Monday, but there was a lot of damage.

"The fire started in the middle of the night from the sacristy," the town's mayor François Decoster said in a statement.

According to French media, the roof and the bell tower of Immaculate Conception Church in Saint-Omer collapsed.
