ALBAWABA - Russian media agencies have stated that a drone attack near the Communications Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia, is thought to have been carried out by someone from Ukraine. These accounts state that there were seven injuries from the incident, two of whom were described as critically injured.

Ukraine launched today a massive drone attack against Russian Black Sea and Crimean installations. The hit prompted Russian air defenses to retaliate rapidly. Moscow accused Kiev of encouraging military action, while Kiev acknowledged the seriousness of the Kharkiv front situation and accepted full responsibility.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said that over 100 drones attacked Belgorod, Kursk, the Krasnodar Territory, and Crimea. Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov of Belgorod said this caused an oil refinery in Tavapshe on the Black Sea to catch fire. The assault killed a woman and her 4-year-old son.

Ukrainian intelligence sources said that Kiev attacked an oil storage and railway station in Novorossiysk and a Crimean substation. An oil plant in southwest Russia's Tavapshe area was attacked again. A drone struck and burned the facility, according to video.

On the Kharkiv front, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed to have gained control of twelve civilian districts in the last week. Due to this, combat has intensified, requiring Ukrainian forces to defend against Russian attacks.

The Ukrainian government said that Russian military shot over 20 drones into Kharkiv, damaging infrastructure and wounding many people. After severe bombing of border towns and villages, over 9,000 people, including 820 children, were evacuated to safer areas.

Russia-Ukraine relations are fragile as confrontations in the Black Sea and Kharkiv escalated quickly. As tensions grow, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock stressed the need of closing off Russian supply networks and equipping Ukraine to deter invasion.
