In a massive boost to Al Gore's bid for the presidency, the Florida Supreme Court Friday ordered the recount of more than 12,000 disputed ballots in the southern state.
In a 4-3 split decision the justices reversed a lower court decision rejecting Gore's hand count request and ordered that a hand recount begin immediately, court spokesman Craig Waters said -- TALLAHASSEE, Florida (AFP)
