FileNet, the leading provider of Enterprise Content and Business Process Management solutions, has introduced the latest version of its Enterprise Content Management (ECM) platform, FileNet P8 3.5 in the Middle East. The new version allows organizations to address a broad range of content, process management and compliance needs.
FileNet P8 3.5 features Content Federation Services (CFS), which enables the software to integrate and manage a broad range of content from both FileNet and non-FileNet content repositories. CFS allows customers to manage all content in their organizations from a single enterprise content catalog, improving business processes and mitigating compliance risk across the enterprise, while reducing IT complexity and costs.
"FileNet P8 3.5 solution differentiates itself by its ability to catalog all content across the enterprise and apply business process management capabilities to improve productivity and business performance," said Lee Roberts, Chairman and CEO of FileNet. "The enhanced Content Federation Services functionality contained in FileNet P8 has allowed us to deliver the industry’s first genuine Enterprise Content Management platform in FileNet P8 3.5."
Recent research has shown that more than 75 per cent of companies continue to support multiple repositories of content within their organizations, while 43 per cent of large organizations have more than five repositories. This has resulted in an increased market demand for content federation.
"To deploy ECM solutions across the enterprise, businesses require more than just integration. They need to be able to federate content irrespective of where it is stored, to ensure an enterprise view of all content assets and actively manage this content across disparate content repositories, making this content a critical part of their business processes. FileNet P8 3.5 solution effectively meets these requirements, as it federates information across content repositories, besides actively managing this information via an integrated set of capabilities available in FileNet’s ECM suites," Roberts said.
"The CFS functionality contained in the FileNet P8 3.5 solution allows enterprises to search, catalog, classify, delete and update content within isolated content pools across an organization through a unified catalog. In addition, it also enables policy-based activation of content outside FileNet repositories for specific business process management functions," he concluded.
