Ferguson Modular Appoints New Director of Business Development
Ferguson Modular, a division of the Ferguson Group, has appointed a new director of business development, as part of a continuing ambitious growth strategy.
Gary Wilson, currently divisional manager for Ferguson Modular, a major supplier and manufacturer of offshore accommodation modules for the energy industry around the world, will take on the role of director of business development.
Tim Sheehan, chief executive officer of Ferguson Modular, welcomed the appointment, saying: “Gary has been with Ferguson Modular for 20 years and has thoroughly deserved this promotion. We are on track to announce major developments in our Ferguson Modular division in the vessel accommodation market in the near future and this will be a main focus for Gary, along with the development of our international business, particularly in Australia and South East Asia. We are continuing to invest significantly in growing and developing our rental fleet to maintain our excellent reputation both in the UK and overseas.’’
Gary will report directly to Mr Sheehan and head a team of five senior staff. He started as an electrical engineer, progressing to project manager before being appointed divisional manager. During his time in that role, Gary’s focus was the growth and development of the module hire business. This focus saw the module rental fleet grow from 12 units to more than 250 units, and saw annual turnover for the division increase from £250,000 to £7.5million-plus in the five year period.
He studied at the Robert Gordon University and holds an MSc in Operations and Service Management and an HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, in addition to memberships of the Institute of Engineering and Technology and the Institute of Petroleum Engineers.
Gary said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as divisional manager and the challenges involved in growing the module hire business, and I have been fortunate to have both a great team and a supportive board of directors during my time in this position. I am looking forward to facing the new challenge of growing and diversifying the business through continued internationalisation.”
At present, the Ferguson Group employs more than 130 people and has established operations in major oil and gas locations worldwide.
