ALBAWABA - It has been claimed that in reaction to assaults on Gaza, Fatah and Hamas have agreed to revive cooperative committees. According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, the agreement follows a national discussion gathering that took place in Beijing, China.
Both sides came to the conclusion during the discussion that joint committees needed to be reactivated in order to handle any problems. They also underlined the need of coordinating actions in Jerusalem and the West Bank to stop Jewish settlers' assaults and intrusions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The movements also emphasised the need of eliminating separation by integrating all Palestinian factions and maintaining national unity under the auspices of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO).
They emphasised the need for coordination of assistance delivery, the lifting of the siege, the total evacuation of Israeli soldiers, and a united front against assaults on Gaza.
The report withheld the participants' identities and the precise date of the meeting. The Palestinian groups, according to Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Cien, engaged in serious and profound engagement and made headway on a number of difficult topics.
This deal comes after Hamas and Fatah met to discuss internal matters in Moscow in February of last year.
