Dubai Fashion 2009 is to present top fashion designer, John Galliano, who will be making his Middle East debut in Dubai on 10th February, appearing in the Emirate for the first time to showcase his Spring/Summer 2009 Collection. Dubai Fashion 2009 is a Dubai Shopping Festival signature event which consists of three dazzling runway shows and an impressive new fashion Gallery that will be presented during three evenings of high-fashion glamour at the Madinat Jumeirah’s Arena Ballroom from 9th – 11th February.
Firmly established as a fashion industry icon, John Galliano’s illustrious career is chequered with a series of prestigious awards and industry accolades. Galliano showed an impressive talent from the very beginning when he graduated from the St Martins School of Art in London with a 1st class Honours degree.
Four short years later, he won the prestigious ‘Designer of the Year Award’ for the first time – many awards would follow. In May 2003, John opened his first boutique in Paris on Rue Saint Honore. This was followed by the launch of a successful menswear collection in the same year. Galliano’s latest addition is a young line “galliano”, which captures the young, funky, rock ‘n roll essence of this dynamic designer.
Indeed, John Galliano’s participation in Dubai Fashion 2009 is further testament to the growing importance of Dubai as a fashion destination and as the fashion capital of the region.
Over the years, Dubai Fashion has imported an impressive list of fashion industry icons, underscoring its determination to put the Emirate on the global Fashion scene.
