Reinforcing its commitment to supporting government initiatives that have contributed to Dubai’s phenomenal growth in the past few years, BurJuman, the region’s premier shopping destination, will once again be a key sponsor of the Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) 2007.
The high-end luxury mall will be spreading the universal message of ‘Big Fun for Little Ones’ this summer by hosting numerous activities and events representing all 10 weeks of DSS, starting with Flower Surprises Week on 21 June 2007.
“Initiatives such as DSS are integral to our success as they ensure the buoyancy of the UAE’s retail industry by encouraging residents to spend the summer here and by attracting tourists from the neighbouring GCC countries, Europe and Asia,” said Eisa Adam Ibrahim, general manager, BurJuman.

To be held from July 28th till August 5th, as part of Adventure Surprises, ‘Art Oasis’, a event exclusive to BurJuman, will see the mall transformed into the region’s largest art gallery with a wide range of exhibitions, cultural and entertainment activities for visitors to enjoy. Another ‘BurJuman’ only event is the highly-anticipated Shayla and Abaya fashion show, which will take place daily from 23-27 August, and is designed to help enhance interest in Arab folkloric clothing, steadily becoming quite the fashion trend around the world.
The mall is also a key venue for a variety of live entertainment, competitions, demonstrations, workshops and numerous interactive programs highlighting each week’s theme. Some of the events visitors can look forward to include the free movie screenings during Art Surprises (28 June – 4 July), a trip to Fiji during Heritage Surprises (5 July – 11 July) and the famed Vivaldi Rock Violin Theatre Play, a unique modern adaptation of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, being performed daily during Nature Surprises (2 August – 8 August).
