Leading names from the facilities management (FM) industry are eagerly looking forward to a new trade event which will bring them together in Dubai next week to spotlight their key role in regional development worth billions of dollars.

Taking place at the World Trade Centre between June 4 and 6, FM Expo will be the first trade show in the Middle East to focus specifically on facilities management.

It will create a vital link for decision makers with suppliers and service providers at a time when multi-billion dollar regional construction is building a huge requirement for facilities management expertise.

The event has attracted exhibitors from a wide range of sectors including energy, health and safety, IT, maintenance, management, property services and security. These include industry leaders such as Serco, Emcor Facilities Services, MAF Dalkia Middle East, Emrill Services LLC, Currie & Brown and AMC Facilities Management Services.

Andrew Barker, Operational Director FM Serco Middle East said: “There is much confusion in the market today between asset management, property management, FM and residential/estates management. There is a real need for the FM industry to come together to help the local market understand how global best practice can be localised to meet Dubai’s developing needs

“FM EXPO is offering an excellent opportunity for industry officials to meet and discuss how we can promote a greater understanding of FM and what it can achieve. We will be able to help buyers achieve a greater understanding of the different building-related services on offer so that they can invest in services to meet their specific needs.”

The event is being organised by UAE-based event management and marketing specialists, Streamline Marketing Group in conjunction with exhibition organisers dmg world media. It will run alongside the Office Exhibition, Hotel Show and the InRetail exhibition, all of which have clear links to facilities management.

Around 10,000 visitors are expected to attend the four exhibitions running in tandem, and they will have the chance to examine the latest facilities management trends, and developments in the region, during a programme of high quality, educational seminars.

Paul Brady, Deputy General Manager of AMC Dubai, says that FM EXPO will be giving his team the opportunity to meet new and existing customers to discuss their ongoing and future FM requirements.

He said: “The FM market in the region is still very young, but because the construction market is currently so buoyant it is important that key players in FM should come together to promote sustainable development.”

FM EXPO is sponsored by Johnston Lighting (platinum sponsor) and FM providers AMC and MAB Property Service & Development (support sponsors). For further information visit www.fm-expo.com
