Moroccan nationals living abroad transferred a record of 2.2 billion US dollars to Rabat last year, the Moroccan Exchange Office said in a statement, cited by Pan Africa News Agency (PANA).
Compared to the average since 1995, which stood at 1.84 billion dollars, the figure for 2000 marks a 20 percent increase, the office said, adding that the trend is expected to continue in 2001 depending on improved economic situation in host countries – Albawaba.com
