Emirates Telecommunications Corporation- Etisalat- hosted members of the Scientific Club, Abu Dhabi, for a tour of the Etisalat Data Centre and a presentation. The young members, all students in various grades, saw first hand the technology used and gained a deeper understanding of Etisalat’s role in connecting the UAE to the Internet.
said: “It is a pleasure to stimulate eager young minds in this manner, and I am sure that in the future there will be many engineers and scientists among the club members. We appreciate the fact that students are using their summer vacation for such useful purposes, which is why we readily agreed when they requested a tour of our facility.”
The 11 youngsters spent more than an hour being guided around the Data Centre in the Etisalat Head Office Building in Abu Dhabi. This was followed by a presentation by Ali Rashid and Hassan Al Abdooli of eCompany in the auditorium that outlined some of the key services and products of eCompany.
The delegation was led by two coordinators from the Scientific Club, and all said that they have now gained a deeper understanding of the working of the Corporation. The Scientific Club comes under the Abu Dhabi Education Region, and is associated with the PTA. The motto of this club is ‘Together we discover the unknown’. “Our aim is to give students information directly from the source, so that they can learn in depth about products and services“, said Fatima Al Hosani, Internet Activity teacher, Scientific Club Abu Dhabi
