Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates will tomorrow (Thursday 26 October) launch its new daily service to New York City, America’s commercial capital.
It will be the Abu Dhabi-based airline’s 35th international destination and the second to North America, following on from the success of the three times-a-week service to Toronto, Canada.
“New York is one of the most exciting global destinations an airline can fly to and will play a significant role in bringing leisure and business travellers to the UAE and the region,” said Geert Boven, VP commercial, Etihad Airways.
“Our Guests will be afforded the very best in Etihad luxury, hospitality and entertainment aboard our brand-new Airbus A340-500. The aircraft has been purpose-built to our own specifications and can carry 240 Guests across the Diamond, Pearl and Coral zones.”
To celebrate the launch a special ceremony will be held at Abu Dhabi International Airport, with officials from the American Embassy in the UAE, the American business community and senior Etihad management in attendance.
Etihad flight EY 503 will depart Abu Dhabi International Airport daily at 14:15, arriving into JFK Airport’s Terminal Four at 21:25.
The return flight, EY 504, departs New York at 23.10 arriving the next day in Abu Dhabi at 20.25.
