Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC) will be promoting how companies can create a healthy corporate culture at ENGAGE Dubai Health Fair, organised by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry's Centre for Responsible Business. Specialists from ENOC’s Environment, Health Safety and Quality Department will share best practices and display occupational health activities by the ENOC Group. They will also conduct hourly first aid demos for the public. Khalid Hadi, ENOC Group Brand and Marketing Manager, said that ENOC’s participation in ENGAGE Dubai Health Fair is part of the Group’s commitment to promote a healthy and productive environment. “At ENOC, we believe that a healthy workplace boosts productivity, and we have implemented standards within the organization to ensure the well-being of employees.” “Stress, diabetes and obesity are amongst the major issues facing employees in the UAE today, that is why ENGAGE Dubai Health Fair is a necessary initiative that will help combat these issues as well as offer a great platform for companies to meet and exchange ideas on health practices,” he added. Dr. Belaid Rettab, Senior Director, Economic Research and Sustainable Business Development Sector, Dubai Chamber, said: “ENGAGE Dubai Health Fair will bring together the business community of Dubai to share best practices, activities and products on healthy living while raising awareness on corporate employee wellbeing and promoting healthy lifestyles in the workplace.” “Companies involved in ENGAGE Dubai programme have learnt how to support the community through non financial means and tap into the rich volunteer market in Dubai as over 2,000 hours of volunteering have taken place in the last few years and we are looking at more companies joining in and increasing the overall volunteering hours in the future,” he said. ENOC has taken several measures to promote a healthy corporate culture. Earlier this year, the group strengthened its healthcare services with an in-house clinic for staff members. The diversified business group also has an Environmental Health Safety and Quality Department to protect the safety and health of its employees, and other stakeholders. ENGAGE Dubai Health Fair is a nonprofit venture that brings together the Dubai Business community to share best practices and products on how to educate employees and their families on living healthier lives. Other activities at the Health Fair include BMI testing, sports clinics, live healthy cooking stations, health products and services on display, Yoga demonstrations, talks and presentations on healthy eating and exercise as well as special activities for children, people with special needs and the elderly. The fair will take place from 2pm to 6pm on November 27, 2010 at A’Rukn, Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai. It will be run by employee volunteers from various organizations and entrance is free of charge.
