Emirates NBD to support Fazza Championships

In yet another initiative to support sports, culture and traditions of the UAE, Emirates NBD, the Middle East’s largest bank by asset size, announced today its sponsorship of the highly anticipated Fazza Championships for the year 2010. The Championship is held annually under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council. 

It is the second consecutive year that Emirates NBD has pledged its support to one of the most popular UAE sporting events of the year.

Abdullah Hamdan Bin Dalmook, Executive Manager of Fazza Championships, Office of Sheikh Hamdan, said that the Championships, which will be held during January 10 – April 10, 2010, include a new sporting attraction, details of which will be announced shortly.

He said that the Fazza Championships were launched in 2002 under the directions of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in order to preserve the heritage of the UAE, and enable future generations to understand and appreciate the rich cultural history of the Emirates. This is an important aspect of maintaining their national identity, said Bin Dalmook. Lauding the participation of and support received from the private sector, he said that Emirates NBD’s sponsorship demonstrates the ongoing commitment of the bank towards local community initiatives and excellence across all segments of the UAE.
