Emirates caught the eye of travel trade professionals with a dynamic presence at this week’s World Travel Market, staged at London’s Excel exhibition centre from 6th - 9th November.
World Travel Market is a key event in the international travel trade calendar attended by worldwide buyers and sellers from every sector of the travel industry, and this year, the Dubai-based international airline’s innovative double-decker stand was a focal point for hundreds of meetings that airline executives – from London and Dubai – held with counterparts from companies across the travel industry.
Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, led the company’s presence with a keynote speaking engagement at the event. Mr Clark was interviewed on the exhibition’s World Stage by TV contributor and aviation industry analyst John Strickland, on the incredible growth of Emirates to becoming one of the world’s fastest growing international airlines with a global network now stretching across 59 countries worldwide.
Many visitors to the Emirates stand took time to sample the airline’s latest in-flight amenities in the shape of its distinctive and luxurious First Class suite that is available on its Airbus A340-500 aircraft. Equally popular was the carrier’s new lie-flat seat, which is being installed in Business Class on its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
Emirates Hotels & Resorts was a centre of attention too. Site models of its two new property developments currently under construction - the Emirates Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa in Australia’s Blue Mountains and the Emirates Marina Serviced Apartments & Spa in Dubai - caused much interest.
Also there to press home the emerging scope of the Emirates Group and its home base of Dubai were representatives from the company’s Destination & Leisure Management team and Al Maha, the exclusive eco-friendly resort situated outside of Dubai which is a model of conservation tourism for the entire region.
