Egypt has warned its diplomats in Liberia to behave cautiously after an unidentified gunmen in a speeding vehicle last Tuesday fired shots at the Egyptian Embassy on the outskirts of Monrovia, Liberia's capital.
The Panafrican News Agency (PANA) said that the Liberian Foreign Ministry had advised members of the diplomatic, inter-governmental and consular corps against staying outdoors after 8:30 pm.
The ministry said the attack was intended to "cause embarrassment and smear the image of the Liberian government."
To pre-empt a repeat, the Liberian government said it was providing 24-hour security protection at all foreign missions in Monrovia.
The government said it would also impound all vehicles without license plates on the streets of Monrovia, as well as those with tinted windows – Albawaba.com
