ALBAWABA - The Egyptian governor of the Red Sea said on Tuesday that three people; two Belgians and one Egyptian, were rescued after a boat capsized in Marsa Alam.
He further noted on Tuesday that the bodies of four passengers were recovered.
On Monday, senior Egyptian officials revealed that at least 31 tourists were in the boat in addition to 14 Egyptian crew members.
Governor Major General Amr Hanafi said yesterday that emergency teams were able to rescue 28 people, while 17 others remain missing.
Initial reports suggested that the tourist boat sank in the Sha'ab Sataya area, north of Marsa Alam, where a helicopter was deployed upon the request of the Naval Base Control Center, which launched a search and rescue operation to the area.
