Edutech appoints two senior executives in support of company’s growth strategies

Edutech Middle East, a leading provider of technology-enabled learning and information solutions, has appointed two senior level executives to support its plans to achieve continued double-digit revenue growth in 2009.  The appointees, who committed to pursue further growth for Edutech’s global operations, are Dr. JK Nair, who assumed the post of Chief Operating Officer (COO) last year and David M. Sample, who is the new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).

Dr. JK Nair has over two decades of professional experience in the field of education, research and information technology. As Edutech’s COO, he leads the company's global operations and is responsible for shaping strategic directions for the company, executing its business strategy and ensuring operational excellence. Prior to joining Edutech, Dr. Nair held the same post at Calsoft, a public listed company. During his leadership, Dr. Nair meticulously managed Calsoft’s seven-fold growth over a period of five years. His attention to detail - be it in customer management, quality, delivery processes or employee relationships - helped the company keep pace with the growth momentum.

In his role as CCO, Mr. Sample will oversee worldwide commercial activities for Edutech. Before joining the company, David Sample was with Blackboard where he served as Senior Vice President of global sales for three and a half years. During that time, Blackboard continued its rapid growth, made several strategic acquisitions, and expanded its international presence. Mr. Sample has more than 25 years of sales and executive management experience at a variety of different enterprise software companies. He spent the bulk of his career at Hyperion Solutions Corporation, where he served as senior vice president for sales, leading both North American sales and international operations. During his tenure at Hyperion, annual revenue grew from $1 million to more than $250 million, and he built one of the premier sales forces in the software industry. Mr. Sample has roots in education - early in his career, he served for 7 years as a high school teacher, coach and administrator.
