An earthquake measuring 5.2 on the open-ended Richter scale shook Turkey's south-western province of Denizli at 3:23 p.m. (1223 GMT) Friday, but no casualties were reported, the head of the Istanbul seismological institute said.
The epicenter of the quake was at the district of Honaz, several kilometers (miles) southeast of Denizli city, Ahmet Mete Isikara said, adding that the neighboring provinces also felt the tremor.
There were no immediate reports of casualties.
The quake only caused minor damage to buildings, the all-news NTV channel said.
