Dubai-Sir Bunair-Dubai Race ended

David Worrall steered Sharazad to success in the 108-nautical mile Dubai-Sir Bunair-Dubai Race which ended yesterday (Saturday) with Christophe Vanek in Horizon FCB retaining the outright lead in the Maktoum Sailing Trophy.

Mark Feilberg, Serdal Dubai took line honours as the first boat to reach the finish at Dubai International Marine Club after a demanding offshore race through the night.

 

But with the IRC handicap system in place, it was Worrall, vice president of the UAE IRC Owner’s Association, who came out on top on the day, with Vanek taking first round winner Horizon FCB to second place ahead of Serdal Dubai.

 

Yousef Bin Lahej, the first UAE national to quality for an Olympic sailing event, guided Xclusive Amirah to fourth place in the first of the offshore events included in the Maktoum Sailing Trophy series.
