Dubai Ruler Orders Establishment of Center to Reach out to Isolated People

UAE Vice President Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is also the country’s prime minister and the ruler of Dubai, has issued a decree on setting up the Dubai Solitude Center to help isolated people. 

The decree stipulates that the center be chaired by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai's deputy ruler and minister of finance and industry, the Emirates’ official news agency (WAM) reported. 

The new facility will have a board of at least five members.  

The center will aim at achieving noble humanitarian goals and embodying Islamic values of solidarity and cooperation among all categories of society, and will strive to help people who suffer from solitude throughout their life. 

The center will provide care to this category of people, who are unable to communicate or understand other, leading to their isolation. 

According to the agency, the decree will take effect from the date of issuance of Nov. 18 and will be published in the official gazette – Albawaba.com
