Dubai Food Festival 2009 gears up to present cuisines of the world

World record attempt on Feb 13 for world’s largest dessert buffet
Creating a feast of exotic tastes and smells, the Dubai Food Festival, a signature event of DSF 2009, is all set once again to give taste buds a treat. Beginning at UPTOWN Mirdiff® on Feb 1, the two-week event will see a host of culinary activities and cuisines from around the world through the participation of over 20 well-known restaurants from across Dubai.

This year the food festival will truly bring out the essence of a market place which will be the centre of the action as more stalls join the square. Fresh and local produce will be on offer, with everything from top quality ice cream to fruits and coffee, in addition to food markets, cookery workshops, and tasting sessions.

Participating restaurants will present a wide variety of cuisines including Sri Lankan, Filipino, Chinese, Mexican, Indian, Japanese, British, Egyptian, Lebanese, South Asian, French, and Emarati cuisine.

Yousif Mubarak, Chief Operations Officer of DSF Office said, “Dubai Food Festival is a celebration of not just cuisines but of the different resident cultures in Dubai. Food is an element that brings people from various backgrounds together and this is very much in line with the ‘One World. One Family. One Festival.’ slogan of DSF.”

Food enthusiasts can find a host of activities at this year’s Dubai Food Festival:
