Dubai's education sector is increasingly focused on the needs of e-government, readapting its educational focus to suit the requirements of e-government in Dubai, the Gulf News reported.
It is doing so by educating more nationals in aspects of modern technology and aiming to be technically equipped with 21st century requirements, such as the Internet and modern means of communication.
Mohammed Omar Hefni, the college's President, told Dubai-based paper that Dubai University College that they “currently have the School of Business Administration and it offers five bachelor degrees in management, marketing, financial banking, tourism and hospitality management. It also offers one masters of business and administration degree.”
He explained that the college has a School of Information Technology offering two bachelor degrees, as well as one degree in computing and information systems and another in Internet computing. In addition to the bachelor degrees, the college offers an MSc., in Internet computing.
The curriculum, he said, is based on the criterion of accreditation established by international accreditation agencies.
"However, in our program we emphasize the application and practice science as every student is required to do internship between the Fall and the Spring semester of every year," he said.
A total of 550 students from 41 different countries are studying at the college, which was established in 1997 – Albawaba.com
