UAE’s Dubai and Abu Dhabi are "ready for their stock market link-up, and officials are working vigorously to establish a common platform,” informed sources said, cited by the Gulf News on Monday.

Official paperwork "is now in the final stages," they said, indicating the authorities are eager to link the official bourses - the Dubai Financial Market and the Abu Dhabi Securities Market - before engaging in cross-border linkages with other regional stock exchanges.

Linked online operations, however, must await ISDN installation, training of brokers and allied issues, all of which will likely be completed over two months, they said.

“The proposed link-up between Abu Dhabi Securities Market and Dubai Financial Market would help the stock market turn the corner,” an official said.
