Dubai 2005, the ninth international aerospace exhibition, will be heavily promoted during this month’s Paris air show as the event’s organiser and a senior Dubai government delegation join forces for the last major sales push initiative prior to November’s Dubai air show.
Fairs & Exhibitions (F&E), the name behind the Dubai air show, will drive the sales and promotion initiative with the support of the Department of Civil Aviation, Government of Dubai.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the DCA and Chairman of the Emirates Group will host a VIP industry reception on June 14 during which he will highlight Dubai’s aviation and aerospace industry credentials to an elite international audience of dignitaries and industry officials.
Sheikh Ahmed will showcase the recently announced Jebel Ali International Airport, the Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport and also promote Dubai 2005, the world’s fastest-growing aerospace exhibition.
“The Middle East’s aviation sector is booming and, in Dubai alone, investment is set to exceed Dhs 140 billion for aircraft orders and airport infrastructure development,” said Sheikh Ahmed.
“In Paris, the Middle East and Dubai in particular will be in the spotlight as the world’s biggest aviation and aerospace players start preparing their plans for Dubai 2005 where they will vie for a slice of one of the world’s most lucrative and fastest-growing regional industries.”
F&E is confident that the joint private and government sales push initiative at Le Bourget will drive further sales and fuel more space demand for Dubai 2005, which runs from November 20 – 24 at the Airport Expo Dubai.
“So far, exhibitors from 37 countries have confirmed their participation at Dubai 2005 which is set to be the biggest in the event’s history with the addition of a third dedicated hall at Airport Expo Dubai, scheduled for completion over the next few weeks,” said Clive Richardson, CEO, Aerospace Division, F&E.
“The timing of the Paris air show is always a key element in our sales calendar as Dubai is the next major focus for the international aerospace industry. It is the opportunity for exhibitors to finalise their exhibition space plans.”
Meanwhile, visitors to the 46th international Paris air show, which runs at Le Bourget from 13 – 19 June, will have the opportunity for the first time to meet an official regional delegation at the Middle East aviation industry pavilion making its continental European debut.
The pavilion was launched to highlight the capabilities of the rapidly-developing Middle East aerospace industry and to encourage the region to better ‘sell’ itself on the global arena.
The Paris pavilion is triple that of the inaugural Middle East arena at Farnborough last year and has attracted a range of exhibitors, from the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon.
“The region’s dynamic aviation sector is stepping up its collective effort to promote its diverse offering to a global industry audience and our second international air show pavilion will generate further interest from the world’s major players,” said Alison Weller, Project Manager, F&E.
Middle East aviation industry pavilion exhibitors include Abu Dhabi-headquartered maintenance, repair and overhaul provider GAMCO, industry journals Aviation Business and UAE Armed Forces as well as Saudi Arabia’s Dhahran-based Arabian Fuels Technology.
Dubai 2005 - the ninth international aerospace exhibition – is organised by F&E in conjunction with the Department of Civil Aviation, Government of Dubai and in co-operation with the UAE Armed Forces.
